Measurement of the volumetric activity of gamma-emitting radionuclides in process liquids in nuclear facilities at high temperatures.
Nuclear Facilities
Waste Management
Key Features
- Total gamma or spectrometric measurement of the volumetric activity of gamma-emitting radionuclides in process liquids at nuclear facilities.
- Identification of up to sixteen gamma radionuclides.
- Suitable for high temperatures.
- Off-line monitor – samples are taken from a process pipeline and flow continuously through the monitor's measurement chamber.
- Built-in Cs-137 check source for automatic spectrum stabilization and functional testing.
- Data can be transmitted to two independent host systems via galvanically isolated interfaces.
- Available in a seismic-resistant design, in accordance with IEEE/IEC 60980-344.
- Optionally can provide safety classified function, according to the EN 61226 standard for safety-related applications.
Description
This monitor is designed to measure the volumetric activity of gamma radionuclides in liquids such as process waters in nuclear facilities, under routine, accident and postaccident conditions.
The monitor assembly comprises:
- GD-51 gamma detector with Ø1“×1,5“ YAP scintillator for high temperatures (optionally can be supplied with NaI(Tl) or CeBr3 scintillator)
- Stainless steel flow-through measurement chamber
- 50 mm thick lead shielding
- Check and stabilisation source Cs-137 with an activity of 25 kBq
- Radiation processing unit RPU-06 with a (1K/2K/4K/8K) MCA with built-in isotope analysis
